Associated PressSTOCKHOLM — New research into predator behaviour in bears shows that one bear in Sweden killed 33 reindeer calves in less than three weeks. Brown bears have long hunted deer in Sweden, but a researcher using a new tracking device found out how often that can happen. Jens Karlsson says his study shows the brown bear, better known for feeding on berries and fish, partially ate many of the young deer it attacked. Karlsson called the large number of kills surprising. He said Monday he used the tracking device on 11 bears and more than 500 reindeer in the study for the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. The female bear killed twice as many reindeer calves as the next brown bear on the list. The bears also killed some adult reindeer, two moose, a rabbit and a pike. ca.news.yahoo.com/swedish-brown-bear-kills-33-reindeer-calves-just-150550260.htmland....
